Two-year-old Himalayan-Persian mixed breed Romeo, his furry sibling 6 year old Samoyed Kasper and the beautiful scenery of New Zealand are the focus on the Instagram page @CasperandRomeo. The contributions of the white-furry, adventurous duo are created by their people, professional photographers Rinsa Li and her husband Wei Cheng Phee.
Casper was there first. “He’s a very good and sweet Samoyed dog – such a good boy personality,” says Rinsa. “But he’s also stubborn when he wants attention and wants to play.”
When Rinsa first saw Romeo, her heart melted instantly and she knew he was the one. “Romeo looks grumpy, but he’s the cutest cat I’ve ever met. He’s always very playful. He knows when you want to play with him and loves to hunt toys. “Rinsa says this cool cat is definitely a Romeo with the way she looks! “We have a lot of friends who fall in love with Romeo because of his looks and personality as a lover boy!”
And what is the relationship of the dynamic duo like? “It started at a distance, but now they can basically no longer be separated,” says Rinsa. The two really bonded after Rinsa and Wei Cheng took Romeo on adventures with Casper.
“They definitely enjoy being together and spending most of their time together – sleeping, eating and exploring. We take you on an exploration of the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand. “Every couple of weeks, Rinsa and Wei Cheng take the duo for walks that last a few hours. “Romeo has a small backpack when he gets tired,” she says, “and Casper happily walks all the way.” At home, Rinsa says, Romeo keeps an eye on Casper, but when they’re outside, Casper keeps an eye on Romeo to make sure he’s okay. “
The couple opened the Instagram account around March 2019. “I set up an account for them so I can capture their sweet moments together and share photos from our travels together,” says Rinsa. “I think it might be a combination of their contrasting looks (happy dog with a grumpy looking cat) and the beautiful New Zealand scenery (around the South Island) that caught our eye. We appreciate and are grateful for the support of our followers. “
Although she grew up more of a dog person, Rinsa is definitely committed to being both a cat and a dog person. What about Wei Cheng? “My husband never really bonded with a cat who grew up, but after I got Romeo I can say he loves Romeo very much,” she says. “He jokes sometimes, when Romeo looks at him and meows him, he says, ‘OK, I’ll pick you up, I’ll feed you, I’ll serve you to the best of my ability.'”
It sounds like Wei Cheng definitely “gets” cats! Do you want more Casper and Romeo? Follow them at @CasperandRomeo on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
